- Physical: Most people can relate to this type of stress. Bad body positions while sitting, sleeping, standing. Working long hours with no stretch breaks in between. Recognizing what our physical limitations are to prevent injuries. We can't keep working out like we did when we were in our 20s and not stretch properly or drink enough water. Emotional: Stress between family members and loved ones. Demands on the job or at home Chemical: Pesticides in our food. We used to go to the local market and pick up local fresh produce and meat but now it is normally shipped from somewhere else and are sprayed with chemicals. Hydrogenated foods lead to high levels of transfat in our diets and put us at risk for heart disease and cancer. Pollution has risen which has effected our lungs and increased the rate of asthma.
- Taking work home with you is very common. Longer hours with less pay ia not rare these days and in this economy people are worried to be let go of their job. This is even more added stress in our lives.
- When under stress, do you notice that you get sick easier and more often? When stressed do you feel as though you are enjoying life the way you do when you are not stressed? Just think about how you feel when you go on vacation or spend quality time with loved ones.
- As you can see, stress effects our tissues, organs, nervous system and immune system. I know a lot of you must know someone who has carpal tunnel, headaches or low back/neck pain.
- When people develop health issues associated with pain, surgery and drugs rarely solve the problem. It can be a easy as changing sleeping, sitting and posture.
- Medicine has wonderful uses for trauma and dealjng with infectious diseases. But It has become common for people to live unhealthy lives and then want to get patched up by their physician. Drugs cover up the cause of the symptom by numbing your body and have side effects that often lead to more serious issues.
- We All Know What This Feels Like: Heart pounds, muscles tense, breathing becomes faster, every sense on high alert. Our body is innately trying to protect ourselves against threats of life. After the threat is gone, our body should relax.
- Have you noticed that chronic conditions asthma, diabetes, digestive problems, pain, dizziness are problematic and exacerbated during times of stress?
- Our stress response is constantly firing with no relaxation to reset our biological chemistry
- There are 2 nervous systems in our body that kick in after leaving the brain and spinal cord. One is used in times of stress (sympathetic) and the other(parasympathetic) kicks in to relax our body and keep our normal beats of our heart and breathing.
- You be the one to decide which works for you. You know your body better than anyone!
- Exercise is great for us but a lot of us don't do it right or don't know our limits and it does put stress on our body. Working out, though it helps relieve most of our stress does create stress as well. It is essential to have therapeutic body work in correlation with exercise to make sure the physical stress is managed.
- Notice how you feel after someone you really care about hugs, laughs with you. It is hard to be anxious upset during these times.
- 90% Of All Healing Occurs While Sleeping. This is when our body is really relaxing!
- As you can see the nervous system controls everything in our body. Making sure there is no interference permits your body to remain as healthy as it can be.
