NEED OF THE STUDY

• No study has been conducted to assess
 the professional satisfaction
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

• Most of the pass-out B.Sc. Nursing
              pass-
  graduates from BPKIHS are working
  abroad, some within the country and only
  few in BPKIHS, hence this study analyzes
  their level of professional satisfaction.
• The results from the study will throw light
  on whether the aspirations of students are
  fulfilled by this profession or not.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY (continue)

• Nursing administrators can use the result
  from the study to find out the reasons for
  dissatisfaction and the way for improving
  it.
• It will contribute to the development of
  the nursing profession as a whole.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

• Professional satisfaction among pass-out

 B.Sc. Nursing students of BPKIHS from
 batch 1996 to batch 2004.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
• To identify the level of professional
  satisfaction among pass-out B.Sc. Nursing
                      pass-
  students from BPKIHS, 1996 to 2004
  batch.
• To find out the association between
  professional satisfaction and selected
  variables.
• To compare the level of satisfaction
  between the B.Sc. Nursing graduates
  working in Nepal and abroad
HYPOTHESIS

• There will be no association between
  professional satisfaction and selected
  variables.
• There will be no association between level
  of professional satisfaction of B.Sc.
  Nursing graduates working in Nepal and
  abroad.

DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

• Pass-out B.Sc. Nursing graduates only
  Pass-
  from BPKIHS will be included in the study
• Data collection period will be only of 2
  weeks.
METHODOLOGY

• Research Design : Descriptive cross
 sectional study

• Research Setting: Pass-out B.Sc.
                    Pass-
 Nursing students from BPKIHS from 1996
 to 2004 batch working in Nepal and
 abroad
• Study Population: All the pass-out B.Sc.
                            pass-
  Nursing students from BPKIHS.

• Sample: Pass-out B.Sc. Nursing students who
          Pass-
  will meet the set criteria.

• Sample technique : A convenient and
  snowball sampling technique will be used to
  collect the data.

• Sample size : Around 54 subjects will be
  included in the study.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Inclusive criteria
 - Pass-out B.Sc. Nursing students from
   Pass-
BPKIHS from 1996 to 2004 batch
 - involved in nursing profession
 - give consent to participate in the study
Exclusion criteria
    - have left the nursing profession



• Tools for data collection : Semi
   structured questionnaire
PLAN FOR DATA COLLECTION
    Data collection period: 2 weeks
    Steps in data collection:
•   List of pass-out B.Sc. Nursing students is
            pass-
    obtained from Academic Section
•   Corresponding address collected (Record
    section, available friends and relatives)
•   Tool finalization
•   Data collection
       - BPKIHS : questionnaire directly
       - Eastern region of Nepal : postal / visit / mail
       - Kathmandu : mail / postal
       - Abroad : mail
• Consent
   - informed consent will be obtained from
  those who are in direct contact
  - details about confidentiality and use of
  data for the research only will be
  mentioned in front of the questionnaire
• Use of convenient and snowball sampling
  technique for data collection.
VALIDITY OF THE RESEARCH TOOL

• Content and face validity of the tool will
 be established by the review of literatures
 and opinions of the experts from the field
 of nursing education, management,
 biostatistics, psychologist and the
 concerned others.
PLAN FOR PRE-TESTING:
           PRE-

• Pre-testing will be done by taking ten
  Pre-
 percent of the sample size.
STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
• Descriptive analysis (mean, median, mode,
  standard deviation, frequency and percentage)
  for describing the level of satisfaction.

• Inferential statistics : chi- square and association
                           chi-
  will be used to find out the association between
  the dependent and independent variables.

  • 12. DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY • Pass-out B.Sc. Nursing graduates only Pass- from BPKIHS will be included in the study • Data collection period will be only of 2 weeks.
  • 13. METHODOLOGY • Research Design : Descriptive cross sectional study • Research Setting: Pass-out B.Sc. Pass- Nursing students from BPKIHS from 1996 to 2004 batch working in Nepal and abroad
  • 14. • Study Population: All the pass-out B.Sc. pass- Nursing students from BPKIHS. • Sample: Pass-out B.Sc. Nursing students who Pass- will meet the set criteria. • Sample technique : A convenient and snowball sampling technique will be used to collect the data. • Sample size : Around 54 subjects will be included in the study.
  • 15. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Inclusive criteria - Pass-out B.Sc. Nursing students from Pass- BPKIHS from 1996 to 2004 batch - involved in nursing profession - give consent to participate in the study
  • 16. Exclusion criteria - have left the nursing profession • Tools for data collection : Semi structured questionnaire
  • 17. PLAN FOR DATA COLLECTION Data collection period: 2 weeks Steps in data collection: • List of pass-out B.Sc. Nursing students is pass- obtained from Academic Section • Corresponding address collected (Record section, available friends and relatives) • Tool finalization • Data collection - BPKIHS : questionnaire directly - Eastern region of Nepal : postal / visit / mail - Kathmandu : mail / postal - Abroad : mail
  • 18. • Consent - informed consent will be obtained from those who are in direct contact - details about confidentiality and use of data for the research only will be mentioned in front of the questionnaire • Use of convenient and snowball sampling technique for data collection.
  • 19. VALIDITY OF THE RESEARCH TOOL • Content and face validity of the tool will be established by the review of literatures and opinions of the experts from the field of nursing education, management, biostatistics, psychologist and the concerned others.
  • 20. PLAN FOR PRE-TESTING: PRE- • Pre-testing will be done by taking ten Pre- percent of the sample size.
  • 21. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS • Descriptive analysis (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, frequency and percentage) for describing the level of satisfaction. • Inferential statistics : chi- square and association chi- will be used to find out the association between the dependent and independent variables.
