Basic outline for district netbook parent/student orientation session

 Enable instruction to be more student-centered
 Provide family access to technology resources & learning
opportunities

3. Use & Care of Your Netbook
 Keep the netbook in its protective sleeve when not in
use.
 Never leave the netbook in a car or anywhere with
extreme temperatures.
 Bring the netbook to school only at designated times or
when instructed to do so by your teacher.
 Never loan your laptop to anyone outside your home.

4. Safe and Responsible Use
 Adhere to SISD Acceptable Use Policies.
 Parent monitoring—use in open, family room.
 Update software as needed.
 Be alert for phishing, viruses.
 Report any problems as soon as possible.
