1. EARCOS Weekend Workshop
Bali International School
Visible Thinking
Presented by Lisa Verkerk
Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November 2012
8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The seminar is appropriate for teachers, administrators and school leaders across grade levels and
subject areas. During the seminar, we will focus primarily on creating a culture of thinking, fostering
thinking opportunities, and looking for evidence of student thinking.
Participants will be introduced to thinking routines - what they are and how they can be used to create
more thoughtful classrooms. During the seminar, we will explore such questions as:
• What is a culture of thinking?
• How can the cultural forces that exist in each classroom support and further develop a culture of
thinking?
• How can educators provide rich and meaningful opportunities for thinking and learning?
• How can we make thinking visible in our classrooms?
