1. Production stages of
my music magazine.

2. Stage 1
This is the look that I wanted my magazine
to look like. I wanted my characters to stand
out like the character is on this front cover of
VIBE magazine, which is a R’n’B magazine.
In the magazine Lil Wayne who is on the
front cover is trying to look tough with an
attitude which is the stereo type of rappers
and that is what I tried to portray in my
characters facial expressions.

3. Stage 2
This was my magazine from the beginning stages.
After I had taken the image and used the magic wand
tool to cut out the background I applied it to the
background of a picture I had taken in Leeds 02 arena
and I added the main head line to show the story to the
picture.
when I had done that I realised that the background
and front cover picture did not work so I organised for
me to take pictures in my schools music/recording
studio. When I the applied the best picture I took I
found it to fit wit the picture a lot better, I then added a
black and white affect so it would make my two front
cover characters stand out.

4. Stage 3 Once I had my main image and
background into place I started adding
vital details to my front cover giving ideas
to the audience of what is in the magazine
hoping to grab their attention and to buy it.
I added things such as the bar code and
price and put them next to the title of the
magazine ‘CAPITAL’. This is so the
audience clearly know what price the
magazine is and that it has a low price.
Other things were added such as a skyline
showing information to do with live
performances and interviews

5. Stage 3 Part 2
I put an issue and date on this
magazine to relate with other
magazines and to bring it to the same
standard as magazines like ‘VIBE’ and
‘billboard’.
These are other stories in the
magazine showing to the reader has
lots of good things in it.
The main story line is across the page near
the bottom. It is in big letters designed to grab
the audiences attention so that they will see
what is interesting in the magazine and want
to read on and buy the magazine;.

6. Contents page This is the contents page of a music
stage 1 magazine. It is set out so that it can
be read by the reader clearly so they
know what the magazine offers and
has in it. This is key in selling the
magazine because if people can not
tell what is in the magazine and other
magazines are easier to read then
people will not want to buy the
magazine. The image is eye catching
especially for males as she is
wearing little clothing and can be
portrayed as a sex symbol, how ever
it can be eye catching for girls as the
women in the picture ‘Nicole
Sherzinger’ is a popular singing artist
with most of her following crowd
being female.

7. Stage 2
 I tried to use the same lay out as this magazine
with it been a simple lay out where it is easy to
see what page you are looking for. I followed the
columns of with the writing is in. I think this is the
best way for the reader because it makes the
magazine seem simple and people wont look at
it and not understand it meaning them not
buying it.

8. Double page spread
Stage 1
For my double page spread I also played it simple
and followed the columns and used lots of images. I
looked at other magazines of the same genre who
seemed to do it like that too. This made it a lot easier
for me when making mine. I used lots of colour on it
to make it stand out too.
