• They are intended to advertise a song and
the artist. Initially when they first became
popular it was a very important part of
promotion.
3. What is included in it?
• Often music video’s include performance
scenes, dancing, editing to the beat and a
narrative that follows the lyrics.
• HOWEVER music video’s have a desire to
be memorable due to their purpose which
means therefore that they don’t always stick
to conventions. Some have no narrative and
others don’t stick to generic conventions
(some heavily use genre though)

• In modern life there are numerous music
channels on which are dedicated to mostly
playing music videos.
• They can also be found online public video
players such as you-tube. They can often be
found on band websites.
