Costs:
The costs involved with vary, for example the amount I will need for pens will differ from
the amount of money I will need to hire various printing equipment, such as computers
and printers.

Available resources:
The resources I need that are available include printers, computers and various things
including cameras and editing software.

Quantity:
I will need a mixed amount of different things; for example, I will need more computers
than I will printers.

Audience and Target Market:
My audience/target market will be younger children. For example, those who can read
but are not as skilled therefore cannot read into much detail. Typically, this will be around
the four-seven age range but could have various exceptions due to the skill of certain
children’s reading.

Quality Factors:
One thing that could possibly affect the quality of my work could be the time limit.
I may not have enough time to complete my book so I have to cut out some of the
things I originally planned to put in my product or rather some of the detail I would
put in, reducing the quality altogether.

Codes of Practice:
The time I will take to complete my product will be two weeks; this should give me
enough time to put in place everything I need to make my product the best it can be.
There will be royalties given to the author of the original The Little Mermaid book as
although I have slightly altered it, there isn’t much difference.
Regulation:
Due to my book being a childresn book, the chances are it’ll fall under the toy market.
Because of this, it will have to be compliant with the new Toy Safety Directive
2009/48/EC regulation as it is being sold within Europe.

Copyright:
Due to me using someone else’s work, I will need to check the copyright law. Although, I
am altering it, I need to see if the copyright put on the story has run out or is still in use, if
this is the case I can use to story with no obligations.

Ethical Issues:
Parts of my book that will most probably need more attention regarding ethical issues will
be the pat where Ariel gets saved during her battle with Ursula. Some books tell how she
saved herself, others say how she got rescued by Prince Eric. This is a section which I
think will need a lot of thought put into as some will say if she got rescued by Prince Eric
that it is typical yet she can fight for herself.
