How to Use "Sandwich" Pages in Facebook
One of the most frustrating things advertisers find when using Facebook for their advertising needs, is this;

Unless you know the right way to go about structuring your Facebook ads and landing pages, Facebook reviewers will
reject them, faster than Google ever did.

This causes many advertisers to give up in frustration. Fortunately for you, I'm about to reveal how you can avoid the
frustration and get your landing page approved almost every time. In the chapters that follow, I'm even going to show
you some of the live pages I use for my own Facebook ads for markets such as games, health and Clickbank info
products.

You see, Facebook reviewers are VERY particular about the kind of landing pages they will approve. For example, offers
that install toolbars or put a negative slant on people who might be overweight, are a definite no-no.

Facebook has much more of a community spirit than any other mass market medium, and their goal is to look after their
members' interests first. Advertisers come further down the list (like, last).

Facebook reviewers are trained to only approve landing pages and offers that meet their
requirements. Ads or offers that may cause offence (for example, ads indicating
overweight people are ugly) or potentially take over users' computers (for example by a
toolbar that is installed) are off limits.

You can usually get your prospect to whatever page you want, but you have to do it in a
particular way that Facebook approves of.

Approval of landing pages can be somewhat hit and miss, and you will see some variation on what gets approved,
because a lot of discretion seems to be left to the individual reviewer. Reviewer "A" may reject what Reviewer "B" would
approve.

What's more, it appears a number of review centers are located outside the USA. This means that if you are running an
offer that is only for the USA, and has geo-targeting restrictions (for example, CPA offers) they will not get approved,
because they cannot be observed from say, India, without using a proxy to simulate a location in the USA.

Fortunately, there is an easy way to avoid a lot of landing page problems, that would otherwise cause a Facebook
rejection. The solution is called a "Sandwich Page" because it goes between your Facebook ad and the landing page you
ultimately will be using to do what you really want (such as…. making money bwaa haa haa haaaa!) .

Ahem. Sorry, where was I? Oh yes, the Sandwich Page.

There are two main types of Sandwich Page I use.
                                                                                       Facebook Ad Factoid
It's handy to know the reasons why
Sandwich Page Type 1: The Facebook Question/Answer Page
                                                                                      Facebook has these strict guidelines,
The first is a simple web page that's very fast to build (say, 10 minutes) and as it can help you get into their
contains information you promised in your Facebook ad. That way, you are mindset and be congruent with the
type of pages you try to send
making the Facebook reviewer happy, because you;
                                                                                                 Facebook traffic to.
        a) promised something in your ad text
                                                                                          Founders of Facebook, Mark
        b) delivered on that promise on your Sandwich Page (see below for
Zuckerberg and Chris Hughes have on
           an example)
occasion been given a hard time by
You then take your users off the Sandwich Page to where you would really Facebook users and the media over
have liked them to go in the first place, if Facebook didn't have all these silly possible misuse of the huge amount of
rules. See examples on following page. personal information given by users to
                                                                                              the Facebook system.
The way I build this type of pages is very fast, because it's so simple. I'll show
According to a 2008 news report from

This is one example of a squeeze page (so-called because it 'squeezes' the email address out of the viewer if

Advertising on Facebook for Profit

  • 1. by : Roger Hall March 1st, 2010 Get Daily Updates at: www.FacebookAdTactics.com Free Preview: Chapter 1 How to Use "Sandwich" Pages in Facebook One of the most frustrating things advertisers find when using Facebook for their advertising needs, is this; Unless you know the right way to go about structuring your Facebook ads and landing pages, Facebook reviewers will reject them, faster than Google ever did. This causes many advertisers to give up in frustration. Fortunately for you, I'm about to reveal how you can avoid the frustration and get your landing page approved almost every time. In the chapters that follow, I'm even going to show you some of the live pages I use for my own Facebook ads for markets such as games, health and Clickbank info products. You see, Facebook reviewers are VERY particular about the kind of landing pages they will approve. For example, offers that install toolbars or put a negative slant on people who might be overweight, are a definite no-no. Facebook has much more of a community spirit than any other mass market medium, and their goal is to look after their members' interests first. Advertisers come further down the list (like, last). Facebook reviewers are trained to only approve landing pages and offers that meet their requirements. Ads or offers that may cause offence (for example, ads indicating overweight people are ugly) or potentially take over users' computers (for example by a toolbar that is installed) are off limits. You can usually get your prospect to whatever page you want, but you have to do it in a particular way that Facebook approves of. Approval of landing pages can be somewhat hit and miss, and you will see some variation on what gets approved, because a lot of discretion seems to be left to the individual reviewer. Reviewer "A" may reject what Reviewer "B" would approve. What's more, it appears a number of review centers are located outside the USA. This means that if you are running an offer that is only for the USA, and has geo-targeting restrictions (for example, CPA offers) they will not get approved, because they cannot be observed from say, India, without using a proxy to simulate a location in the USA. Fortunately, there is an easy way to avoid a lot of landing page problems, that would otherwise cause a Facebook rejection. The solution is called a "Sandwich Page" because it goes between your Facebook ad and the landing page you ultimately will be using to do what you really want (such as…. making money bwaa haa haa haaaa!) .
