ECONOMY ANALYSIS
 The S&P BSE Sensex ended a volatile session in the positive territory on
Tuesday led by gains in pharmaceuticals, power and oil & gas space. April
WPI inflation, which slipped to 4.89 per cent against 5.96 per cent in
March, failed to boost sentiment.
 The 30-share index closed at 19,721.90, up 30.23 points or 0.15 per cent.
It touched a high of 19,831.79 and a low of 19,652.69 in trade today.
 The Nifty ended at 5,993.55, up 13.10 points or 0.22 per cent. It touched a
high of 6,026.20 and a low of 5,970.05 in trade today.
 The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.28 per cent and the S&P BSE
Smallcap Index was 0.04 per cent higher.
 Sun Pharmaceuticals (2.03 per cent), ONGC BSE 1.78 % (1.78 per
cent), Bharti Airtel BSE 1.78 % (1.78 per cent), GAIL BSE 1.57 % (1.57
per cent) and Tata Motors BSE 0.96 % (0.96 per cent) were among the
top Sensex gainers.
 Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1,144 gainers against 1,190
losers.
