  16. Token Ring is ready for multimedia applications. Multimedia on Ethernet will involve a new standard called 802.1q - this standard is not backwards compatible which means existing Ethernet networks will have to be completely upgrade e.g. new NICs, new hubs, new switches, … Why on Earth would anyone buy Ethernet???
