5. The resurrection is the climax of the gospel
stories.
- in Acts it is the focal point of the (apostles)
preaching
- it vindicates claims that Jesus is Messiah
(Christ) and Lord
- it gives meaning and purpose to his life and
death as an atoning sacrifice for sin

8. 1. A group of women come
to the tomb around dawn possibly with Mary
Magdalene leading the way

2. Mary and the women are
met by two young men, who
in reality are angels, one of
whom announces the
resurrection

garden, unsure what to do,
but then decide to report
what they have seen to the
11 apostles - possibly Mary
runs ahead and tells Peter
and John
4. Jesus meets the remaining
women en route and tells
them to go and tell the
