comedies are mostly predictable.

• When it comes to writing, a cliché needs to be
avoided, or even better, not used. Because…
• It’s not creative
• It’s boring and flat
• It can sound like something your grandmother would say
• It’s too colloquial and when you are writing you need a
certain formality
• Need more reasons? Here is the last and most
important:
Who wants to read the same tired expressions
used over and over? People want fresh and
exciting!
