Applications are invited in the prescribed form for filling up the following posts of
Officers (tenure basis) from the candidates who are qualified as on the last date fixed for
receipt of applications in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.

: QUALIFICATIONS :
a. Director of Education:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in any area of Agriculture/related science from a recognized
University
2. A Master’s degree in any area of Agriculture with at least 55% of marks (annual
system) and or CGPA of 3 out of 4 (Trimester system) and/or OGPA of 8 out of 10
(semester system).
3. A Doctoral degree in any area of Agricultural discipline
4. A total experience of 20 years of Teaching / Research / Extension / Administration in
Universities/ Colleges and other Institutions of higher education, out of which 10
years shall be in Professor’s cadre and minimum of 3 years experience as Director of
Education / Dean of a College / Director / DR / DE / Registrar of an Agricultural
University / National level Institute.

2. b. Dean(Post-Graduate Studies), Registrar, Director of Research, Director of
Extension, Dean(Agri), College of Agriculture, Dharwad / Bijapur /
Hanumanamatti & Dean(Forestry), College of Forestry, Sirsi :
1. A Bachelor’s degree in any area of Agricultural Sciences from a recognized
University
2. A Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences with at least 55% of marks (annual
system) or CGPA of 3 out of 4 or OGPA 8 out of 10.
3. A Doctoral degree in Agricultural Sciences
4. A total experience of 18 years of Teaching / Research / Extension / Administration in
Universities / Colleges and other Institutions of higher education, out of which at
least 8 years shall be in the cadre of Professor.
c. Dean (Home Science):
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Home Science from a recognized University
2. A Master’s degree in Home Science with at least 55% of marks (annual system) or
CGPA of 3 out of 4 or OGPA 8 out of 10.
3. A Doctoral degree in Home Science from a recognized University / Institutute.
4. A total experience of 18 years of Teaching/Research/Extension/Administration in
Agricultural University or other Institute of higher education, out of which at least 8
years shall be in the cadre of Professor.
Note for (b)&(c) : The appointees for the posts of Deans of Colleges have to
necessarily reside in the designated UAS Quarters during their
tenure. This condition is subject to the approval of the Board of
Management, UAS, Dharwad.
d. Dean of Students Welfare:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in any area of Agricultural Sciences from a recognized
University.
2. A Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences with at least 55% of marks (annual
system) or CGPA of 3 out of 4 or OGPA 8 out of 10.
3. A Doctoral degree in Agricultural Sciences.
4. A total experience of 18 years of teaching/ research/ extension/ administration in
Universities/Colleges and other Institutions of higher education, out of which at least
2 years shall be in the cadre of Professor.
Note: Under Sl.No.1, 2 and 3, the area of specialization in the degree is not applicable
to UAS employees.
e. University Librarian:
1. Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least
55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 points scale & consistently
good academic record.
2. At least 13 years as Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 years experience
as a University/National Institutes/College Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be
as Deputy Librarian OR M.Phil/Ph.D Degree in Library Science/Information
Science/Documentation/Archives & Manuscript keeping with 10 years experience as
a University/National Institutes/College Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as
Deputy Librarian.
Desirable: Evidence of innovation in Library services & organization of published
work.

3. : INSTRUCTIONS :
1. The persons claiming reservation under Hyderabad-Karnataka Region have to
enclose requisite certificate issued by the competent Authorities in support of
their claim. In case of employees of UAS, Dharwad, only those who have exercised
their option for the State Level Regional Cadre are eligible to apply for the posts
earmarked for candidates belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region.
2. Persons other than those belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region need not
apply for the posts under the said quota.
3. In case candidates belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region are not available for
the post reserved for the said category, the vacancy will be carried forward for
future notifications as a backlog.
4. The entire notification including the application pro-forma prescribed for each of the
categories of the posts notified is accessible from the official website
(http://www.uasd.edu) of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.
5. The applicants have to enclose the processing fee in the form of Indian Postal Order /
Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque for ` 3000 (in case of SC/ST ` 1500 only) payable to
Comptroller, UAS, Dharwad drawn within the period from 8.5.2014 to 7.6.2014 while
submitting the filled in application pro-forma.
6. The filled-in applications which do not accompany the prescribed fee are liable to
be rejected.
7. Separate applications with separate fee are required for each of the post applied.
Applications for two different posts should not be tagged together.
8. The qualifications and score cards for selection of candidates for the said posts shall be
in accordance with the University Notifications No.R/BOR-121/2007, dt.13.12.2007,
No.R/BOR-121/2008, dt.16.1.2008, No.R/B-122(Adj.)/2008, dt. 19/20.03.2008,
No.R/BOR-132/2009, dt.16.10.2009 & No.R/Rectt/B-121/2007, dt. 31.7.2008.
9. Ex-servicemen or children of defence personnel killed or disabled in action are exempted
from payment of application fee provided they furnish appropriate certificate along with
the filled-in applications.
10. Persons with working knowledge in Kannada language shall be preferred.
11. The candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than 10 point
grading system are required to produce the equivalent percentage certificates obtained
from the respective University. This is not applicable to the candidates in respect of the
degrees obtained from UAS, Dharwad and UAS, Bangalore.
12. Working hours of the University : 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (Saturday : 9.00 am to 1.00 pm)
13. Applications must be accompanied by attested copies of Marks Sheets,
Certificates, Experience Certificates, Publications, Research Notes, Certificates of
Awards/Medals, Certificates related to past service etc. and the details of research
or related publication, if any, in support of eligibility.
14. Details regarding National / International Awards (recognized by ICAR, CSIR, DBT,
Ministries of State or Central Govt., FAO of the UN etc.), Institutional Awards /
recognized Professional Society Awards etc. should be clearly mentioned for proper
appraisal.
15. Candidates already in service (Government/Quasi Government or private) should submit
their applications through proper channel. Candidates anticipating delay in sending their
applications through proper channel, may submit a advance copy of the application
along with the processing fee. The original application duly forwarded by the parent

4. office must reach this office within a fortnight after the last date prescribed for submission
of filled in applications. Such of the candidates who do not forward their applications
through the parent office have to produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of
interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
16. All communications, in respect of applications for recruitment against the posts
advertised by the University, should be addressed to the Registrar, University of
Agricultural Sciences, Krishinagar, Dharwad – 580 005 (Karnataka).
17. The vacancies now notified are provisional and are subject to variations. The University
reserves the right to fill-in any or all the vacancies.
18. In no case shall the processing fee be reimbursed.
19. For all recruitments to the posts in the University, other things being equal, the University
employees shall be given preference.
20. Filled-in applications together with copies of testimonials should be sent in an envelope,
superscribing on it, “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ___________” to THE
REGISTRAR, UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, DHARWAD – 580
005(KARNATAKA), on or before 1.00 p.m. on 7.6.2014 from the candidates staying in
India and abroad. The candidates staying abroad may download the application
proforma from the official website (www.uasd.edu) and submit the application forms
along with the relevant documents and the prescribed fee in foreign currency.
21. Applications received after the last date and incomplete applications will be rejected.
22. Furnishing any false information in the application form shall hold the candidate liable to
action deemed fit.
23. No recommendations should be forwarded to the University. Canvassing in any form will
disqualify the candidature.
24. The appointed candidates are governed by the Act & Statutes, Regulations etc. of the
University.
