tioman or perhentian island?
i’m planning to go to either tioman or perhentian island from selangor for 3 days 2 nights
which beach is nicer? i would like to go by bus..which bus company available?
im looking for relaxation and budget trip
any recommendation about the island, packages for 3d2n and accomodation in particular
places?

Perhentian is famous for its white powdery beaches while the beaches of tioman aren’t exactly
white except some of the smaller islands around tioman (renggis island etc.. Very beautiful)..
Tioman used to be listed by Time Magazine as 1 of 10 most beautiful islands in the world but
trust me if the beauty is defined by the beaches then perhentian is far better by my opinion..
Likewise both tioman and perhentian are famous for scuba diving and maybe it is easier to spot
for turtles during snorkelling trip in perhentian than it is in tioman.. If u chose perhentian go for
teluk pauh on perhentian besar island.. The long beach on perhentian kecil is more for
Caucasian backpackers.. I would recommend you to avoid teluk dalam on perhentian besar
because it is not quite suitable for swimming due to close coral reefs just off the beach though
the beach is very long and you got lots of space for yourself..

2. If you enjoy nature though, i would recommend you toman island.. It has some spectacular
jagged hills/mountains and lush rainforest.. Maybe due to this island’s geological features that
tioman was once in the list of top 10 most beautiful islands..
However if you are considering other options i would strongly recommend either Lang Tengah
island or Redang in terengganu or either Dayang or Aur in Mersing, Johor.. I think these two
islands in Mersing are largely under-rated..
Lang Tengah though smaller, boasts equally beautiful white powdery beaches.. Redang is more
crowded but worth it especially if you stay in Berjaya Redang which has its own very beautiful
bay (Teluk Dalam bay) with wider beach and probably the whitest, finest sand in the whole of
malaysian peninsular..
The accommodation on both perhentian islands are quite crappy so tioman is better in term of
accommodation.. However do consider Berjaya Redang (or lang tengah) for a memorable stay..

Any great company/dive center/resort there?
I am going there in mid Dec this year. Which island to visit first and whom to call? I need some

under water video charges?
equipment rent? Charge for BC, octopus/regulators and tank?

The resorts of Redang and Tioman are mostly close from Nov – Mar. Come back April next
year.

Berjaya Tioman will fit in nicely for both you as it is a resort by itself and have nos. Of activities
been organised by the resort if you don’t mind the costs…
From snorkelling to canoeing in the sea and cycling to jungle trekking in the hilly terrain…your
choice…

Hi,
The answer is soooo obvious…Tioman Island of course ..As a general rule pick any beaches on
South China Sea instead of beaches on Melaka Straits.(with the exception of Langkawi
Island).Of course there’s a few beaches on Melaka Straits are acceptable and beautiful..but
Port Dickson??? Being someone who was born and has lived in Selangor all my life..I used to
adore Port Dickson until the 1st time I set my eyes on Terenganu Beaches..and my friend
Tioman Island has some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen..
