Growth Management Plan: City of Valparaiso, IN
The growth management policies in this Plan do not limit growth, rather they invite growth, but in a manner
compatible with the existing physical fabric, and values and vision of the City. The objective was to create a
greenway ring that links the City’s unique environmental/community features like creeks, parks, forests, golf
courses, schools etc., while also providing multiple benefits like urban growth boundary, identity, aesthetics,
 recreation, and flood water management.

Strategic Plan: High Density Redevelopment, Olympia, WA
This study identified impediments to high density development along a major corridor, as envisioned in the city’s
Comprehensive Plan. It proposed amendments to city codes and guidelines, and identified government actions and
incentives to stimulate the desired redevelopment pattern. Recommendations regarding housing types and
densities, and their location along the corridor were also formulated.

Transit Oriented Development, Kent, WA
The City of Kent wanted to leverage the new commuter rail service to stimulate mixed use development close to
transit facilities, and to redevelop the existing parking for greater density/efficiency.The study determined the
development potential of two sites, and identified the 'fatal flaws' that would preclude the desired development type.
The factors analyzed were site and neighborhood context, applicable regulatory code and policies, market forecast
and demand for development, feasibility analysis, circulation and parking.
