This is my analysis of Q Music Magazine

1. Cover Photo-The photo subject is
using direct address to catch the
readers attention. The artist appeals
to the readership with the age
range of 25-30. Her makeup is
toned up by the bold blue
eyeshadow giving her natural look
an edge, this appeals to the
readership as it gives an insight to
what type of content is inside.
Mast Head-The font is quite
clean and has a single capital
letter this makes it very catchy
and easy to remember. The font
is traditional and bold. With
colours that contrast against
each other.
Strapline-This strapline suggests
that there is non specific genre
to this magazine, allowing a
wider readership. This allows
the reader to believe that if
they read inside they will be
able to explore the different
genres and find the best one for
them.
Cover Price-The cover price is
relatively cheap compared to other
music magazines which are a bit
more steeper. Although this appeals
to people with a disposable income
as £3.99 is still a lot for one
magazine. There is also a link to their
website which increases the
readership as most young people are
more likely to visit the website than
to buy a print copy.
Pull Quote-The photo subject is
heavily edited creating a illusion of
perfection which contrasts the this
pull quote from her interview
revealing an exclusive insight to her
personal life. This specific pull quote
reveals that she is not as perfect as
she looks in the cover photo, urging
the reader to look inside to find out
more.
Main Cover Line- This reveals the
famous singers name in the cover
photo.
Cover Line- This cover line has a
light-hearted tone shown by the
humour used to attract the
reader; ‘And this ones not a
bastard’ They also proclaim that
there is a ‘New Simon Cowell’
enticing the reader to open the
magazine and find out what the
‘new’ Simon is like.
Lure- This lure appeals to their
readership consisting of music
fans aged 25 and over. Since
this is a column exclusive to Q
magazine it will attract more
readers as they would want to
know what Zane Lowe; a well
known DJ has to say.
