2. Results from my questionnaire
I have distributed ten questionnaires to ten females who are aged between 25-35 years
of age. I have given out the questionnaires to this specific group of people because
females aged 25-35 are my target audience and therefore by giving the
questionnaires to them I can discover exactly what they are looking for in music
magazines overall and in particular country music. Doing eleven questionnaires can
provide me with enough of an idea of how to produce my music magazine for the
benefit of the target audience.
As well as the graphs to follow, the questionnaire revealed that that the readers listen
to a variety of artists/bands mostly of which who are female. Examples include
Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry and
Sugarland. The fact that females listen mainly to female artists could show they
aspire to be like them due to their values and appearances. The questionnaire also
revealed they listen to male country artists such as Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney
which is because they find them attractive both in their musical capabilities and
appearance.

The reason most of the females said no was because they felt that the music magazines “don’t seem to aimed at” people like them.
It can therefore justify the need and desire for my magazine.

attract you to a music magazine” and they responded with: having well known artists/big stars, having a classic country and western
feel with a modern edge and also having females looking glamorous with props such as musical instruments and cowboy’s boots and
hats etc.

Also I asked “What specific images/ photographs associated with country would you like to see on the double page and
would attract you to a music magazine” and they replied: that what they wanted on the double page spread was similar to
what they want on the front cover in terms of big stars (old and new, including British stars) and also images of gigs, fashion
and lifestyle. Similarly they liked the idea of a main image that could be cut out and used as a poster and treasured by the
dedicated fans.
