auger holes at

14. Test Results
 It is observed that all
the soil samples
were saline. i.e.
EC>3 and pH>8
 The well and drain
water is also saline
with EC>3.

 The points are
marked on the given
catchment map.
 Based on EC values,
contour lines were
marked
 The affected area is
shown on the map
 It is very difficult to
demarcate the area
with only 24 samples.
The accuracy depends
on the number of
samples.
 Remote sensing
technique can be used
to get more accurate
results

17. Remarks and future scope
 Proper drainage is
essential to avoid water
logging
 It is difficult to demarcate
the area on map
accurately.
 Cross drains may be
provided to reduce the
discharge.
 The adjoining land should
be protected from water
logging in future.
 New techniques, like
Remote sensing can be
used to speed up work
accurately.
 Maintenance of existing
drainage scheme is an
important factor.
 Cleaning of natural
nalla.
 Involvement of farmers.
