天を司る神バタラ・グルの命令に従うことができなかった
in Japanese Myth
デワ・アンタは大粒の涙を三粒落とす。すると、その涙が そのとき須佐之男命は、大気都比売命（おほけつ
卵に変わったので、アンタはそれをかえしてバタラ・グル ひめのみこと）といふ女神に、何かものを食べさ
にささげることにする。数日後、卵からは愛らしい女の子 せよと仰（おほ）せになりました。大気都比売命
が生まれた。バタラ・グルは喜んでその子を引き取り、サ は、お言葉に従つて、早速、鼻の穴や口の中から
ンギャン・スリと名を付け、妻の乳を飲ませて育てた。バ いろ／＼の食べものを出して、それをいろ／＼に
タラ・グルは美しく成長したサン・ギャン・スリとの結婚 お料理して差し上げました。
を望むが、妻の乳を飲ませた以上それは実の子と同様であ すると須佐之男命は大気都比売命のすることを
るとして周囲の神々は反対する。しかし、バタラ・グルは 見て入らしつて、
あきらめようとしなかったため、神々は共謀してスリに毒 「こら、そんな、お前の口や鼻から出したもの
を飲ませて殺し、土中に埋めた。するとその死体の頭から が己（おれ）に食へるか。無礼な奴（やつ）
ヤシ、目から稲、胸からもち米、下半身から砂糖ヤシが生 だ。」と、大そうお腹立ちになつて、いきなり剣
えてきた。 をぬいて、大気都比売命を一うちに斬（き）り殺
しておしまひになりました。
さうすると、その死骸（しがい）の頭から、蚕
が生れ、両方の目に稲が実（な）り、二つの耳に
粟（あは）が実りました。それから鼻には小豆が
実り、お腹（なか）に麦と大豆が実りました。
それを神産霊神（かみむすびのかみ）がお取り
集めになつて、日本中の穀物の種になさいました。
