 天を司る神バタラ・グルの命令に従うことができなかった

 卵に変わったので、アンタはそれをかえしてバタラ・グル                     ひめのみこと)といふ女神に、何かものを食べさ
 にささげることにする。数日後、卵からは愛らしい女の子                     せよと仰(おほ)せになりました。大気都比売命
 が生まれた。バタラ・グルは喜んでその子を引き取り、サ                     は、お言葉に従つて、早速、鼻の穴や口の中から
 ンギャン・スリと名を付け、妻の乳を飲ませて育てた。バ                     いろ/\の食べものを出して、それをいろ/\に
 タラ・グルは美しく成長したサン・ギャン・スリとの結婚                     お料理して差し上げました。
 を望むが、妻の乳を飲ませた以上それは実の子と同様であ                      すると須佐之男命は大気都比売命のすることを
 るとして周囲の神々は反対する。しかし、バタラ・グルは                     見て入らしつて、
 あきらめようとしなかったため、神々は共謀してスリに毒                      「こら、そんな、お前の口や鼻から出したもの
 を飲ませて殺し、土中に埋めた。するとその死体の頭から                     が己(おれ)に食へるか。無礼な奴(やつ)
 ヤシ、目から稲、胸からもち米、下半身から砂糖ヤシが生                     だ。」と、大そうお腹立ちになつて、いきなり剣
 えてきた。                                          をぬいて、大気都比売命を一うちに斬(き)り殺
                                                しておしまひになりました。
                                                 さうすると、その死骸(しがい)の頭から、蚕
                                                が生れ、両方の目に稲が実(な)り、二つの耳に
                                                粟(あは)が実りました。それから鼻には小豆が
                                                実り、お腹(なか)に麦と大豆が実りました。
                                                 それを神産霊神(かみむすびのかみ)がお取り
                                                集めになつて、日本中の穀物の種になさいました。
