Area residents are invited to a community open house Wednesday evening as a way of introducing
the project. The event will begin with a short presentation and a question and answer session with
Brian Ellis, president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Realty Investors.

The open house will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at 775 Yard St. (900 Goodale Blvd.)
with parking behind Urban Active Fitness, north of Goodale Boulevard.

For nearly six decades, the City of Grandview Heights, Ohio, was home to the nation’s largest refrigerated warehouse – representing hundreds of jobs and critical tax revenue for the City of Grandview Heights and the State of Ohio. In 2004, bankruptcy resulted in one million square feet of vacant warehouse space. As a result, the largely abandoned 90-acre site began to deteriorate and created a challenging Brownfield condition.But still, the area between Third Avenue and Goodale Boulevard in Grandview Heights, only minutes away from The Ohio State University, represented a tremendous opportunity in the community. Nationwide Realty Investors is proud to be able to revitalize this valuable area. When complete, Grandview Yard will include 1.5 – 2 million square feet of commercial space with supporting parking garages, public streets, and pedestrian amenities. The master plan for Grandview Yard calls for a total investment of over $500M
  5. Centrally located in the Columbus market, Grandview Yard is highly visible and easily accessible from SR 315 and I-670 and only 2 miles from both I-71 and I-70. The development is within a 2-3 minute drive for Downtown Columbus and less than 15 minutes from Port Columbus.

Grandview Heights is the epitome of the expression “location, location, location.” It is the closest incorporated community to downtown Columbus and it’s nearly adjacent to The Ohio State University, Battelle, major medical facilities, and only a short drive to Port Columbus International Airport.
  7. The first phase of Grandview Yard, opening on September 1, 2010, will bring up to 375 new jobs to the Grandview area. Phase One includes a 92,000 square foot Class A office building, a 42,000 sq. ft. Urban Active, a 83,000 sq. ft. Hyatt Place (126-room hotel) and 500 space parking garage.

  9. A Hyatt Place hotel, an Urban Active Fitness and a Jason's Deli will be open for business on the site formerly occupied by a Big Bear supermarket warehouse. The final touches are being put on an office building to be occupied by M&A Architects, while the OSU-themed Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill remains under construction with an anticipated November opening date. "This will give us an opportunity to tell folks whats there today, and what we expect will be coming down the road," Ellis said, referring to future plans to add more offices, retail and housing at Grandview Yard.
