The students are seated around the inside of the horseshoe facing toward the outside of the classroom. To interact with one another or the instructor, a student only needs to swivel in their chair. When they turn around and face the Smart Board, they are giving their attention to where the teacher needs them. It becomes very easy to know who is paying attention and who is not. Also, with their backs to the center of the horseshoe, it is very easy for the teacher to walk around and look over shoulders to make sure students are on task. This design allows for enhanced interaction and transparency in the classroom. The large Smart Board can be seen from anywhere in the room, and allows the teacher to be mobile and in front of the class. <br />The large circular collaborative tables are there for students to work in groups, or to spread out if they need to sort through materials. The printing station is set up to do all of their printing, framing, and any other finishing they need to do to complete assignments. Hanging on all the walls are photo from past students, encouraging current students to produce high quality images that may also be hung to honor them, to future classes.<br />
