Key indices edge lower for the second day in a row; The Sensex was down 112.47
points at 27531.41 and the Nifty ended down 30.90 points at 8339.35. The market was
also under pressure ahead of the May F&O expiry on Thursday. All the sectoral indices
ended in the red, Cement and oil stocks led modest losses for key benchmark indices.
The market breadth indicating the overall health of the market was negative. The
broader markets had a listless closing, with the midcap and smallcap indices ending
marginally lower at 10,609 and 11,165 respectively. The market breadth was
negative.In overseas markets, European shares edged lower as fears lingered about the
Greek debt situation. The Asian markets ended mixed in the absence of fresh cues
from the global front.
