This document provides a summary of a presentation on web archiving. It discusses several key topics: 1) It outlines the actors, technologies, and projects involved in web archiving, as well as conventional web archives and their limitations as isolated silos of information. 2) It examines challenges around archiving the "long tail" of web content and ensuring archived resources can be navigated and discovered across different archives. 3) It introduces the Memento framework, which aims to make navigating the past web easy by codifying methods to create linkages between archived versions and original URLs, as well as enabling discovery of archived versions across archives.
