Beta (β) is one of the risk management tools to capture the risk exposures of hedge-fund investments. As most of hedge funds today trade derivative securities, the research on the measurement of derivative beta is important. The aim of this paper is to examine the factors, which may have impacts on option beta in the United States market. My hypothesis is comprised into three main parts. First, I hypothesize that 5 variables (type of option, strike price, days to maturity, firm size and book to market ratio) have linear relationship with the option beta. Second, I hypothesize that the strength of linear relationship is varied by the type of the industry. Third, I hypothesize that the strength of linear relationship is also varied by these 5 types of variables itself. To begin the process, I use regression method to estimate the beta of underlying stock. Then, I estimate the option beta by multiplying the beta of underlying stock and the option elasticity. I then use regression method to test whether the 5 variables have linear relationship with option beta. I find that 3 variables (type of option, strike price and days to maturity) have the most significant linear relationship with option beta, while firm size has less significant linear relationship and book to market ratio have no significant linear relationship. Furthermore, using 2-way ANOVA, I test whether strength of linear relationship is varied by the type of the industry and the 5 types of variables. There is not enough evidence to infer that the strength of linear relationship between the 5 variables to option beta is varied by the type of the industry, instead, there is enough evidence to infer that the strength of linear relationship between the 5 variables to option beta is varied by the type of variables.

Nowadays renewable energy systems are becoming best way to generate electricity. With advancement of technologies the cost of renewable energy equipment is going down globally encouraging large scale solar photovoltaic installations. Major part of renewable energy is solar energy. The implementation of new cost effective methodology based on technology to monitor a solar parameters for performance evaluation using open source tools and resources like Arduino and local Web Server which provides data on Web to monitor the parameters. Local Web provides all services for free of cost and monitoring can saves lot of investment on Web designing and maintenance. This focus on low cost system with easy interface so that common people who installs roof top solar plants also monitors easily without depending on service providing companies. This will facilitate preventive maintenance, fault detection of the solar panel in addition to real time monitoring. This research details the development of an open source device to monitoring system for remote solar panel systems. The use of the internet of things (IoT) in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems is a critical feature for remote monitoring, supervising, and performance evaluation. Furthermore, it improves the long-term viability, consistency, efficiency, and system maintenance of energy production. However, previous researchers' proposed PV monitoring systems are relatively complex and expensive. Furthermore, the existing systems do not have any backup data, which means that the acquired data could be lost if the network connection fails. This paper presents a simple and low-cost IoT-based PV parameter monitoring system, with additional backup data stored on a microSD card. A NodeMCU ESP8266 development board is chosen as the main controller because it is a system-on-chip (SOC) microcontroller with integrated Wi-Fi and low-power support, all in one chip to reduce the cost of the proposed system. The solar irradiance, ambient temperature, PV output voltage and PV output current, are measured with photo-diodes, DHT22, impedance dividers and ACS712. While, the PV output power is a product of the PV voltage and PV current. ThingSpeak, an opensource software, is used as a cloud database and data monitoring tool in the form of interactive graphics. The results showed that the system was designed to be highly accurate, reliable, simple to use, and low-cost.

A technology platform that is gradually bridging the gap between object visibility and remote accessibility is the Internet of Things (IoT). Rapid deployment of this application can significantly transform the health, housing, and power (distribution and generation) sectors, etc. It has considerably changed the power sector regarding operations, services optimization, power distribution, asset management and aided in engaging customers to reduce energy consumption. Despite its societal opportunities and the benefits it presents, the power generation sector is bedeviled with many security challenges on the critical infrastructure. This review discusses the security challenges posed by IoT in power generation and critical infrastructure. To achieve this, the authors present the various IoT applications, particularly on the grid infrastructure, from an empirical literature perspective. The authors concluded by discussing how the various entities in the sector can overcome these security challenges to ensure an exemplary future IoT implementation on the power critical infrastructure value chain.

A power analyser (including Voltmeter, Ammeter, Multi-meter) is using to measure the power quality in the electrical power distribution system. Most of the electrical power distributions systems have been connected the power analysers to a building management system. The power analysers connected to a computer in a fixed position that means if someone wants to check the power distribution status, the person needs to go to the computer to check. In this project, a system would be made to monitoring the power status by 5G New Radio (NR) Network application with android smartphone. Since 5G NR Network can provide a theoretical peak download capacity of 20 Gigabits per second. It would be more convenient to monitoring the power status in different place by checking though in the Internet of Things (IoT)

Network connectivity is rapidly expanding to a range of new device groups that offer both wired and wireless network functionality. In 2012, 74% of Internet Protocol (IP) traffic and 94% of consumer Internet traffic originated from personal computers (PCs).
