The shooting script outlines a two day film shoot with no audio on the first day. Day one includes shots of Louise reacting to pulling back a curtain, Joe walking down the street playing guitar, an argument between Louise and Joe in the living room where he attempts to kiss her but she pushes him away, Joe sitting on the couch thinking and Louise appearing to exchange words before pushing him away again. Day two will focus on lip sync shots now that audio is complete, including Joe singing on the couch and in the bedroom, Louise singing against a bedroom door, them both unaware of each other singing the ending chorus twice, and a rotating shot of them back to back singing the chorus.
1. SHOOTING SCRIPT
Characters – Louise and Joe
Location – Georgina’s House
Day 1 of Filming
Filming, we wont have the audio track available so we cannot do any shots that require lip sync. So we can
therefore film the ‘filler shots’ the shots that will act as the narrative to the video. When we were filming the
footage for our rough cut we went over any planned timings we had, so for this reason I am not going to
note any down.
‘The shots are planned but will are not be in order of appearance’.
SHOT 1 – CLOSE UP SHOT – Of Louise’s face to reveal emotion when she pulls back the curtain.
SHOT 2 – WIDE SHOT – Of Joe walking down the middle of the street playing his guitar, he will walk off the
side of the frame.
SHOT 3 - WIDE SHOT /ESTABLISHING SHOT – Louise will be in the living room, and Joe will walk around
the corner in the living room and they will begin to argue. Joe will attempt to kiss Louise but she will push
him away out of anger and he will storm out of the room.
2. SHOT 4 - WIDE SHOT /ESTABLISHING SHOT – Joe will be sitting on the settee thinking about going after
Louise. As he gets up to follow her she appears around the corner in the room, they exchange a few words
and then hug. Louise will once again push Joe away and tell him to leave the house and she will fall to the
settee.
SHOT 5 – OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT – A simple over the shoulder shot of Joe where we will be able
to see his face in the mirror. We must be careful though to not see the camera in the mirror. He will stare at
his reflection for a couple of seconds and then he will put his head in his hands.
SHOT 6 – MID SHOT/PANNING SHOT – Louise will be in the bathroom looking in the mirror. She will then
cry and fall to the ground.
Day 2 of Filming
The audio track should be completed for our second day of filming, so we can therefore focus more on the
lip-syncing shots.
‘The shots listed will once again not in order of appearance’.
SHOT 1 – MID SHOT – Joe will be sitting on the settee playing his guitar and he will sing the first verse of
the song.
SHOT 2 – CLOSE UP SHOT – Louise will be sitting against the back of the bedroom door and she will
sing her chorus of the song.
3. SHOT 3 – MID SHOT – Both Louise and Joe will be sitting on the settee unaware of each other and they
will both sing the ending chorus twice through the song.
SHOT 4 – MID SHOT – Joe will be in the bedroom and he will sing the bridge of the song.
SHOT 5 – ROTATING SHOT – Joe and Louise will be back to back and they will both sing the chorus of
the song, while the camera pans around them.
