4. BACKGROUND
Ewing Marion Kauffman was born on a farm in
garden city, Missouri on September 21, 1916.
He is an American pharmaceutical entrepreneur,
philanthropist, and Major League Baseball owner.
Ewing Marion Kauffman moved to Kansas city with
his family when he was eight years old and he grew up
there.
5. He was the owner of the Kansas City Royals baseball
team, and the stadium in Kansas City, Missouri was
renamed Kauffman Stadium.
His wife is Muriel Kauffman.
He died in August 1, 1993.

12. Kauffman was an Eagle Scout and as an adult was
awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.
After serving in the United States Navy in World War II,
Kauffman worked as a pharmaceutical salesman until
