2. Innate immunity
First line of defense
Innate immunity is the common mode of defense
against microorganisms, using limited set of pattern-
recognition molecules.
Rely on receptors to recognize microbial signatures
such as LPS, CpG DNA, peptidoglycan and dsRNA
from viruses.
