1 Explain the designing of constant –k high pass filter. 
2 what are the limitations of constant –k prototype filter? 
3 Explain M-derived bands pass filter. Obtain the expression for f∞ at infinite attenuation and 
constant M. 
4 what is composite filter? Why are the used? 
5. Describe of Composite filter. 
6. Define types of filters. Explain first order low pass Butterworth filter. 
7. Define band pass filter and types of band pass filter. 
8. Calculate the Chebyshev filter. 
Unit-3 
1. What is meant by a positive real function? 
2. Give the necessary and sufficient condition for positive real function. 
3. Describe foster and Cauer network in detail, with suitable example also compare them. 
4. Discuss brune’s method with suitable example. 
5. Discuss the bottdufusion method?
Unit-4 
1. Discuss the parameter of open wire line and coaxial cable at radio frequency. 
2. What is dissipation less line? Wire down its constant. 
3. Draw the voltage and current variation along on open circuited and short circuited line. 
4. Define the attenuation function. 
5. Define the characteristics function 
6. Define the phase function. 
7. Define and differentiate phase and group velocity as applied to a uniform transmission line. 
8. Explain fully ‘skin effect’ how it’s overcome. 
9. Drive the fundamental transmission equation and from them find expression for voltage 
and current along an infinite line. 
10. What a short note equalizers 
11. Drive design equation for the bridge T delay equalizer 
12. Explain what is meant by ‘inverse network’ illustrate by giving simple example. 
13. Explain in detail the working of a constant resistance equalizer with the aid of diagram. 
14. Explain why the network is called constant resistance type. 
Unit-5 
1. Explain the reflection coefficient and VSWR and relationship between them. 
2. Write the short notes of SWR in term of OC and SC. 
3. Discuss the statements” A self wave transmission line section repetition of the load”. 
4. What is the stub and what its application. 
5. Describe the smith chart in single stub matching. 
6. A transmission line has characteristics impedance of 500Ω and it has been terminated in 
200Ω at load. If the load is dissipated a continuous sinusoidal power of 100w. Then calculate 
the reflection coefficient and VSWR values. 
7. Write short notes on smith chart and its applications.
