Women’s societies were established - LMH, Somerville and OHS/St
Anne’s (1879), St Hugh’s (1886) and St Hilda’s (1893)
Women gradually admitted to men’s examinations – by 1894, could take
all exams for BA
Separate Examination for Women abolished
Delegacy for Women Students established, taking over from Delegacy of Local
Examinations
Women gradually admitted to various other exams
Women allowed to matriculate, take all examinations, and have degrees
conferred (except BD and DD)
