1. FOSTERED
Treatment written by Oshin Gurung
At a very young age of three, Israel Gordon’s parents were divorced
where his unidentical twin sister Gabriella was separated from him.
From that day onwards, Israel started to have tough upbringing with
only his mother. It had got to the point where even simple
communication with her was difficult and she had hard time giving
Israel the care which he needed. He felt lonely as he had no one to
play with and able to talk with since his twin sister was gone from
him. It suddenly made Israel to realise that he will never be able
to have a relationship with his mother which made him to be handed
to social services, where he could finally find someone who will
shower him love.
After five months, Israel was now in the hands of a young woman
called Aisha Rahim. Israel was welcomed with warm-heartedness when
he first met her, which was one thing which he never was able to
receive from his parents; this made Israel to immediately like her
also he was able to feel comfy very quickly as her house was warm
and cosy.
Israel was beginning to settle in and he was spending a lot of
quality time with his mother. There was never a time where he felt
isolated. This all changed when one day he found his deceased
sister, Gabriella’s photo in his foster mother’s living room.
When Gabriella was taken in custody by her father at the vulnerable
age of three, no one was aware of her father’s maltreatment towards
her which led Gabriella to be fostered later by Aisha Rahim who is
the same foster mother which Israel has now.
Aisha Rahim was childless which meant she was never able to raise
her own kids and from then on she has been living with frustration.
When her husband found out that they were never able to have their
own kids, this caused her husband to leave her which is why Aisha
Rahim decided to foster children in order to experience parental
responsibility. By fostering children she was able to raise her kids
the way she wanted to and disciple them. However, if the children
went against her rules when she is trying to displace her kids then
she would feel intimidate, fragile and angry. As Gabriella who was
her first ever foster child did not listen to her foster mother,
hence the reason she was killed by Aisha with her own hands. This
secret is something which Aisha has been keeping from everyone and
is prepared to forget about it for her new foster child Israel.
The presence of Gabriella is surrounded on Israel when he lays his
eyes on the picture of his deceased sister. This spirit follows him
every day and night where he can hear his sister’s voice and even
see her. As soon as Aisha encounters her deceased foster daughter,
2. she finds herself contacting the social worker questioning if
Gabriella is Israel’s sister. The truth is yes.
During this moment, Gabriella’s spirit is trying to change Israel’s
views and attitude towards his new foster mother by centring in and
out of Israel’s soul. Gabriella wants Aisha to prove how she killed
her to Israel but she would not go away from her house until
Gabriella herself kills Aisha.
