** Individuals with a duty to report at Oxy must contact Campus Safety and/or the Dean of Students office when they are
informed that a sexual assault has occurred. This will lead to an initial investigation by the Title IX coordinator.
*** Hospitals are mandated to call the police if a patient tells personel he/she has experienced sexual assault. HOWEVER, a
survivor has the right to request a victim advocate and to NOT give a police report if they so choose. SART (Sexual Assault
Response Team) facilities are able to perform forensic exams at no cost, and are most effective in gathering evidence within
96 hours of an incident.
