Watching this video opened my eyes. I thought I knew what stereotyping really was, but I didn’t
know all the details. In this experiment the instructor has to go to the extreme to prove her point
about how stereotypes affect people. Most people don’t realize how bad stereotypes are, and how
they hurt the people they are aimed towards. I think that how she goes about is a very effective
process. Everyone in class even if they are not the target of the stereotype sees and feels how
people that are judged everyday of their lives feels.
I think it’s crazy how fast the blue eyed people get angry. She degrates them, belittles them and
doesn’t even call them their names. She is using every method she can to make them feel bad
about themselves. I didn’t think it was fair that the girl that was being picked on got to get up and
leave the room. In my opinion the instructor of the class should’ve made her stay. Black people
that get made fun of because of their race don’t get to walk out of their lives. It follows them
where ever they go. I believe that this experiment serves it’s purpose. Everyone that participates
in this experiment leaves having a new view on how the real world really works, and hopefully
does something about it.
