A Day without a Mexican
This movie had a very valuable point. I’ve always known how much we rely on
Mexicans to do the work that most Americans won’t. Our business industries would really suffer
if we didn’t have any Mexicans to help it along. They play a key role in our agriculture
community as well. If they weren’t here who would we get to work the fields or orchards? Other
problems that California faced when the Mexicans disappeared were that there was no one to
work in the kitchens at restaurants. There were no solution presented in the movie, they only
wanted to find out why the Mexicans disappeared. They never tried to bring them back or cross
over into the fog to see if that’s where they went. If I had a say in that situation at all I would
have made middle and upper class Californians get off their tails and help where the help was
needed. Like working in the fields or helping in the kitchen of restaurants. This movie made me
remember how much we really need Mexicans, no matter how many time people say that they
need to go back to Mexico. Our economy wouldn’t survive without them.
