The cheeky Irish one, that
has the Irish teens
swooning as well as many
of the older generation
due to his cuteness.
Known as the one that is
always single.
Harry Styles
The most well known of
the group. Known for his
big curly hair and great
singing voice. He is
effectively the leader of
the band. Known as a bit
of a ladies man.
Louis Tomlinson
The funny one of the group
that tends to stay in the
back, as he isn’t the
strongest singer. He and his
girlfriend, Elenor Calder,
have a very public
relationship making him ‘off
–limits’ to the fans.
Zayn Malik
The dark and mysterious
one, that shocked the
world with his surprisingly
nice voice. Known for
being with his girlfriend,
Perrie from Little Mix.
Liam Payne
The one that is second in command
after Harry. Also sporting one of the
better voices.

4. The band was formed on X-Factor when all five boys
auditioned as individuals, only to be put into a
group together. This makes them synthetic as they
were formed, rather than coming together naturally.
They managed to prove their success as artists and
are now one of the most famous boy bands in the
world, if not the most famous.
The band’s first album was
called ‘Take Me Home’ and was
a major hit with the younger
teenage audience. From the
front cover, it is clear that the
British image is being played up
a lot with the iconic red phone
box.
The boys have had multiple singles that gave them
massive publicity. For example, a recent single
released was the cover of ‘One Way Or Another’ for
charity. This sold millions of copies, making a
massive profit.

5. Although a factor of the
Organic Ideology, the idea
of the artist being given
time to evolve is seen in
particular members of the
band.
For example, Harry Styles
began very pure and
innocent. Now he has
tattoos over a lot of his
body. This could be a sign
of him trying to prove that
he is growing up. Or
perhaps showing that
actually he isn’t the sweet
one with the angelic voice,
he’s the rebellious one

6. The band do not write all their
songs, and if they do they are in
collaboration with other writers.
The yellow boxes show the songs where they
had input. Out of the 13 songs on their ‘Up
All Night’ album they collaborated on 3.
This screams Synthetic, because
they clearly haven’t made it this far
on their son writing ability. We can
assume it’s due to their look.

8. Jake’s look is
not as well
designed and
obvious in
comparison to
One Direction.
He is 19 from
Nottingham and was
discovered by Mercury
Records at age 17.
His approach to the industry is very
much music focused. He was
nominated for the “British
Breakthrough Act” award at the 2013
BRIT Awards, he lost to Ben Howard.
Before the awards he said “it's great
(to be nominated) but I don't really
need an award to inspire me to keep
writing music and playing my songs.”
This is a prime example of how he is
an organic artist.

9. The focus with organic artists is strong
albums. If we take a look at Jake’s
album and single portfolio, he has
only released one album but 6 singles.
But then if we take into consideration
that he only started putting music out
in 2012, one album is very good.

topped the
UK charts at
number 1

10. Jake Bugg is known as a
singer-songwriter, not just
a solo singer. He has
written solely or in
collaboration every song
on his first album.
This proves how organic he
is because he is talented
enough to write all his
own music.

11. Organic artists are given time to
evolve and change over a long
time. Although Jake has only
been around for two years, the
changes are already beginning.
For examples, he has been
pictured and linked with up and
coming model Cara Delavigne
However he has stuck to
what he knows best when it
comes to his fashion and style
choices.
