Ohio Hunger Dialogue call for proposals
1. The Ohio Campus Compact and Walsh University’s Offices
of Global and Serving Learning Present
Administrators, faculty, and students will join community partners and members of the public in this important
and timely dialogue to address critical issues of hunger in our local and global communities and to seek solutions
to hunger through the teaching, research, and service activities of Ohio’s colleges and universities. Ohio will be the
third state to host a state-wide meeting of higher educators devoted to seeking hunger solutions.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We invite proposals from college and university faculty, staff, administrators, students as well as community partners
addressing research, best practices, and model programs that address solutions to hunger. There are five areas of emphasis
for the dialogue:
Developing student leadership
Policy and activism
Domestic and global perspectives on food and hunger
Curricular, co-curricular and pedagogical approaches
Developing and sustaining community partnerships.
The conference steering committee invites proposals for complete panels, workshops and individual papers. Proposals
and individual papers may present original research, best practices, or model programs. Proposals for workshops should
offer specific “deliverables” for audience members that can be implemented in a broad variety of institutions or agencies.
For proposal form, see: www.walsh.edu/hungerdialogue. For further inquiries, contact Dr. Douglas Palmer, Executive
Director of Global Learning, Walsh University at dpalmer@walsh.edu.
Deadline for proposals is APRIL 1, 2014
