The ODDC project
• A collaboration of Canada’s International Development Research
Centre and the Web Foundation;
• Developed out of a meeting alongside the 2012 OGP Plenary in
Brasilia;
• A research network of 17 projects based in developing countries,
exploring the emerging impacts of open data on budget, urban
governance, poverty reduction, justice, higher education and
resource industries;
• Building common methods and a shared evidence base for
understanding, and furthering, the promise and practice of open
