Number of Registered
Voters
   The number of registered voters is
    146,311,000 million people. Only about
    62% of these people actually voted.
Voting Democrats
   The amount of these registered voters
    that are registered Democrats would be
    72 million.
Registered Republicans
   The number of registered republicans is
    55 million.
The Whites
   The population that is white has been
    going down dramatically. The white
    population that makes up the electorate
    has gone down to 34 percent in this
    past election which it was 46 percent in
    1972.
Hispanics
   Out of Hispanics 58 percent think that the
    government should do more economically.
    This past election Hispanics made up 10
    percent of the electorate which was the first
    year that they made up double digits of the
    electorate. Obama won 71 percent of the
    Hispanics while Romney only won 27
    percent. This was a deciding factor in the
    2012 election and will be in coming
    elections. Hispanics are tending to become
    more Democratic.
States With Greatest Hispanic
Population
 New Mexico, Arizona, California, Illinois,
  New York, Florida, Georgia, Colorado,
  New Jersey, and Texas
 Obama won all of the above states
  except Georgia, Arizona, and Texas who
  still remain predominately Republican
  states.
Blacks
   Out of the Black population 73 percent
    think that government should do more
    (economically). In the 2012 blacks made
    up 13 percent of the electorate. Out of
    this 13 percent 93 percent of them voted
    democrat and 6 percent republican. The
    democrat since 1980 has always won
    the black votes.
Men
   Men make up 47 percent of electorate.
    Out of this 47 percent of them voted
    democrat and 52 percent voted
    republican in the 2012 election. Since
    the 1980s men usually vote more
    Republican but usually pretty close.
Women
   In the 2012 election 53 percent of the
    people were women. 55 percent of them
    voted democrat and 44 percent voted
    republican. In the past 6 elections
    women have voted more democrat
    which before that they voted more
    republican.

  • 2. Number of Registered Voters  The number of registered voters is 146,311,000 million people. Only about 62% of these people actually voted.
