  the	
  Chamber	
  of	
  Commerce	
  are	
  encouraged	
  to	
  be	
  key	
  
          supporters	
  and	
  the	
  board	
  managing	
  the	
  Fund	
  at	
  a	
  local	
  level	
  would	
  ideally	
  be	
  lead	
  
          by	
  local	
  business	
  


    u    The	
  Fund	
  promotes	
  the	
  creation	
  of	
  an	
  authority-­‐wide	
  community	
  forum,	
  such	
  as

          Birmingham	
  Open	
  Spaces	
  Forum,	
  that	
  brings	
  together	
  groups	
  interested	
  in	
  their

  parks

Vision  for  the  GreenPlaces  Fund   By  creating  a  national  mechanism  for  parks  and  greenspace  giving   that  attracts  funding  and  commitment  from  both  businesses,   communities    and  individuals  locally,  where  it  matters  to  them  most,   the  Fund  can  support:   u  Everyone  in  the  UK  to  have  easy,    safe  and  close  access  to  quality  parks  and  green   spaces  where  they  live   u  Encouraging  collaboration  between  businesses,  local  authorities  and  communities  to   work  in  partnership  to  improve  and  sustain  their  local  parks  and  green  spaces   u  Inspiring  communities  to  recognise  the  value  of  green  space  and  boost  usage  to   improve  their  health  and  quality  of  life

GreenPlaces  Fund  -­‐  partnerships   It  seeks  to  grow  partnerships  across  towns  and  cities  between   local  authorities,    communities,  businesses  and  green  sector  NGOs   u  Business  forums  such  as  the  Chamber  of  Commerce  are  encouraged  to  be  key   supporters  and  the  board  managing  the  Fund  at  a  local  level  would  ideally  be  lead   by  local  business   u  The  Fund  promotes  the  creation  of  an  authority-­‐wide  community  forum,  such  as  the   Birmingham  Open  Spaces  Forum,  that  brings  together  groups  interested  in  their   local  parks  and  greenspace   u  There  will  be  expertise  locally  too  and  it  is  hoped  that  the  Fund  can  support  key   partners  such  as  TCV  to  establish  volunteering  centres  or  hubs
