2. In the beginning…
• There have always been study skills in the LRC
• But these have not been measurable or
tracked to look at the impact they have had
• So we have extended them to include wider
skills i.e. digital literacy/careers
• Created a framework that help to highlight
the value offered
3. What do we offer?
A range of workshops lasting between 30 min to 1 ½ hours in a range
of topics including:
• Using online and offline
resources
• Introduction to plagiarism
and referencing skills
• Using the internet safely
• Online and offline research
skills
• I.T. skills
• Going to university
• Creating an effective CV
• Producing a covering letter
• Self marketing
• Your digital reputation
• Interview skills
• Creating effective
presentations
• Time management and
SMART targets
• Writing a report
4. What do we offer?
• Workshops requested by tutor for their
groups, learners individually or learners can
sign up to timetabled lunchtime sessions
• Ad-hoc support to complement themes of
workshops
• Support for learners completing self-directed
online packages
• Cover service for classes with absent staff

• 154 workshops requested by tutors
• 5 workshops at the request of learners
• 190+ ad-hoc sessions delivered to students
