The Chronological Life of Christ part 097 (Reality Check Luke 13 1-9).pptx
Chase after Jesus
1. Acts 20:24
New International Version
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my
only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying
to the good news of God's grace.
2. What gives you fulfillment?
What is the most important thing
in your life?
What is it that you want to
achieve?
3. Everything we do will go to waste. A
chasing after the wind
I have seen all the things that are
done under the sun; all of them are
meaningless, a chasing after the
wind.
Ecclesiastes 1:14, NIV
4. What is worth doing?
1 Corinthians 15:58New
International Version (NIV)
58 Therefore, my dear brothers
and sisters, stand firm. Let
nothing move you. Always give
yourselves fully to the work of the
Lord, because you know that your
labor in the Lord is not in vain.
5. What should our priorities
be1.· Love for God. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with
all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30).
“He who loves father or mother more than Me [Jesus] is not worthy of Me;
and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me”
(Matthew 10:37).
“He Himself [Christ] will come to have first place in everything”
(Colossians 1:18).
2· The Kingdom of God. “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness”
(Matthew 6:33).
3· Spiritual things in heaven. “Keep seeking the things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on
the things that are on earth” (Colossians 3:1-2).
6. 4· The spiritual goal of heaven. “One thing I do: forgetting
what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I
press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).
5· Love. “Above all, keep fervent in your love for one
another” (1 Peter 4:8; cf. Colossians 3:14).
6· The glory of God. “Whatever you do, do all to the glory of
God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
7· Eternal things. “We look not at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are
seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are
eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
8· Good deeds. “Learn to engage in good deeds” (Titus
3:14). “. . . zealous for good deeds” (2:14). “Be careful to
engage in good deeds” (3:8).
7. Challenge
How will you spend your one and
only life?
Hebrews 9:27 Just as man is
destined to die once, and after
that to face judgment.
