Year 1 had a fantastic time during their visit to Farmer Ted’s last week. We enjoyed our

2. Children in the Spotlight
Nancy has passed her Level 5 Low Bar Award and Level 5
Gymnastics Proficiency Award. Fantastic!
Daniel was awarded Man of the Match from Southport Trinity U10's
Football Team. Congratulations!
Rachael has passed her 100m Rainbow Swimming Award.
Wonderful!
Lauren achieved an A pass in her Grade 2 exam in Modern Theatre
and achieved a B pass in her Grade 1 Tap Dancing exam.

The PTA held their Annual General Meeting last Wednesday where the Chairs, Star of the Week
Claire Stewart and Diane Lonsdale reviewed the year and outlined their plans for
this coming year.

Amy from Year 1 was preparing her pot for planting the daffodil.
On Tuesday 5th of October it was harvest day. Hooray! Reverend Knight came in to explain to us what it was about and let
us plant daffodil bulbs. Firstly, he placed stones in the bottom and then the compost. Next, he placed the bulb and topped
with more compost. Reverend Knight wanted the daffodils to grow before the end of the assembly so he made everyone
sing, dance and shout to persuade them to grow! It was very funny, but he realised it would take until spring. In the end
we got a plant for each class, and we have to take special care, especially to water it. This assembly was fun, and we can’t
wait for more.
KS2 collected over £100 which will be passed to the charity selected by the School Council. A very big thank you to
everyone who donated.

4. Year 2 Topic Egypt
The Y2 teachers really got into the spirit of their topic
work on Egypt as they explained to the children all
the exciting things they would be doing on the
subject. Pictured here are the teachers showing the
children Egyptian artefacts and how the Egyptians
dressed. Many thanks to Jessica Laverty's mum for
bringing the items from Egypt. We look forward to
hearing all about this topic from the children.
B Team Football

This first match of the season saw a heavy defeat for the B team
despite excellent defending by Dannon Lavelle, Jake Hawkings,
Liam Healey and Darcy Iveson-Berkely and goalkeeping by Josh
Watkins. Many of the team were making their debuts and
showed a lot of enthusiasm, hard work and team spirit against
the strongest team in the B team league.

We would like to remind parents that all PE kits should be kept in school.
It is essential that all items are clearly marked with your child’s name and
class. Parents should ensure the correct clothing is kept in school at all times
to ensure their child is able to access PE which is a statutory part of the
curriculum.

6. YR6 Trip to the Musical Firework Competition
Last Friday Year 6 went to the Firework Competition at Kings Garden. We all met at 6:30 by the old bus station now
known as the entrance to Morrison’s. It was only a short walk to get there and before we knew it we were there. We
found a spot round the Marine Lake and waited until the fireworks began. It was an amazing sight to see and it was all
in time to the music. Everyone enjoyed it. After it finished we went for a short walk and passed the Lifeboat Station and
we saw Mr. Hesketh! Moreover, we saw the large tractor used to tow the boat and before set off we all got a sticker each
and gave a donation to the life boats. Then we all set off singing songs until we got back to the bus station. We had a
few minuets left and as we sat down three people came past on their bikes covered in lights! It was a very fun night. By
