1. An inconvenient truth
I believe that this movie is a good way to show the damage that we are causing to our
planet and the important changes that it is suffering.
Many of us know about what global warming is but perhaps not everyone knows that the
damage of our planet is being caused by us. For this reason this movie shows the dramatic
changes of the earth, for example the photographs that Mr. Al Gore presents about Mt.
Kilimanjaro and Himalaya Mountains show the contrast between the before and after of
them due to the fact that in previous years they were covered with snow and now they
are almost dry, another example are the lakes that today did not exist because they are
totally dry. I knew that global warming was a very important issue because of the damage
that our planet was suffering but I did not know how big this damage was before to see
this movie. It is also important to mention that the images of this movie are really
shocking, but thinking that the natural disasters that happened in the previous years were
caused by global warming and that millions of people died in flooding, hurricanes,
droughts and storms were caused for us, is even worse. We have to do something to stop
the damage but in some years it can become be worse and the heat waves, the
hurricanes, the flooding, the storms and all the other natural disasters will be harder.
Nowadays, Scientifics state that the number of hurricanes will increase per year and the
tropical storms can pick up more energy and become more powerful, they also affirm that
some cities will face troublesome new pests and more mosquito borne disease, without
mention some other predictions. To sum up, it is important to report that this is an
excellent movie because it not only displays the damage of the global warming but also it
shows some easy solutions to solve this problem; one of them “to reduce our greenhouse
gas emissions”.
