Danish architect Bjarke Ingels is the principal of the architecture firm BIG, based in Copenhagen. An alumnus of Rem Koolhaas’ OMA practice, Ingels takes a similar approach: experimenting with pure space, but never losing sight of the building as a solution to a real-world problem. In his talk, Bjarke Ingels rockets through photo/video-mingled stories of his eco-flashy designs. His buildings not only look like nature -- they act like nature: blocking the wind, collecting solar energy -- and creating stunning views. His manifesto "Yes Is More" takes the form of a giant cartoon strip, 130 meters long, that reminds people to keep thinking big -- to see all our modern problems as challenges that inspire us.

When designing a new building, how can we use historical precedent to guide us? Which precedents should we select? How should we study and apply them to our designs? Enjoy my powerpoint presentation exploring these issues for the AIBD’s First Tuesday @ 2:00. Full recorded version with audio will be forthcoming from the AIBD.

You need to stand out in 3 seconds - The competition is fierce and you need to be able to catch interest in less than 3 seconds and then keep it. This is true no matter if you are creating a message for a presentation, the web, a speech or a video. Most likely you do the following misstakes today - You start a presentation with a company overview - You start a presentation about your product - Your webpage is all about your product ä You have more then 10 words on your power point slide Tools the super professionals use will be yours In this presentation you will learn how to create amazing B2B Value Propositions Designs that will not only say what you need to say but will catch the interest of the person you are trying to reach in a totally new way. I will show you 4 tools that the super professionals use and how to use them. I created this presentation after doing extensive research on how to create a strong value proposition. The data I have reviewed are from marketing experts, Gartner, reports and my own personal experience creating value propositions. The purpose of the presentation is to share my conclusions on how to build a strong value proposition. Please feel welcome to share your thoughts, insights or comments. I love feedback. You can send an email to info@daniel-one.com or visit my webpage www.daniel-one.com. I look forward to hear from you. Some pictures can be a bit blurry when you view the presentation directly from the web. To view a high quality version of the presentation simply download it. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me at www.daniel-one.com

These slides are adapted from a talk I gave at the Welsh Government's Marketing Awards for the LAM sector, in 2017. It offers a primer on UX - User Experience - and how ethnography and design might be used in the library, archive and museum worlds to better understand our users. All good marketing starts with audience insight. The presentation covers the following: 1) An introduction to UX 2) Ethnography, with definitions and examples of 7 ethnographic techniques 3) User-centred design and Design Thinking 4) Examples of UX-led changes made at institutions in the UK and Scandinavia 5) Next Steps - if you'd like to try out UX at your own organisation

In this presentation I gave an update on the status quo of the Europeana project and what questions need an answer in the coming period. In particular the need for better quality metadata from cultural institutions to increase search and a new infrastructure for aggregating the data from thousands of cultural institutions.

In the history of Paris, the city has seen a lot of terror and a lot of bloodshed. The city was once occupied by the Roman in 52 BC and it was occupied again as recently as the Second World War, 70 years ago. Paris is always a vibrant city. It was the city of the Enlightened Philosophers and it was the city of the Impressionists. Today it is one of the most favourite tourist destination in the world. It is a city of light and romance and we will return to reclaim the city, its cafes, its theatres, its museums, its concert halls, its monuments, its streets and its squares. Viva la Paris.
