4. This the Masthead which is
normally always at the top
of a magazine. Normally the
main image is covering the
title as people know the
brand identity and can
immediately recognise it
This is the date and website

magazine is focusing on this
month

that is the main feature

Use of shapes is normally
used in magazines
5. The date, issue number and
website give the audience
more information about the
brand. They fit neatly in
with the ‘M’ and don’t
distract the readers
attention.
The coverlines are
positioned around the main
image to signify its
importance. However the
coverlines are not all in the
same font. This is more
appealing to the audience
as it keeps them interested
as it doesn’t all look the
same. They are all in white
as well to stop them
confusing the audience, as
it keeps them focused on
the main features.
The main coverline is in big,
bold sans-serif font. This
catches the audiences
attention and draws them
to look there first.
The masthead is in a bold
sans-serif font. The font is
quiet modern looking and is
probably targeted to a
younger audience to an
adult audience e.g. 16-30.
The colour of the masthead
is red and fits in with the
image as one of Supermans
colours is red.
The main image takes up
most of the middle third of
the magazine. Furthermore
the costume superman is
wearing shows his muscles,
connoting his masculinity. It
also relates to how
powerful he is as he takes
up most of the space.
The colours used in the
magazine are red, white
and black mainly. This will
also relate to our thriller
genre of our film.
