1. Dear Georgia Studies Educator:
The Highlanders have arrived in Georgia!
Let the museum come to YOU with a visit by a Scottish Highlander who protected the
Georgia coast and interior in the 1730s and 1740s. I bring to your classroom a glimpse
of the past: a walking, talking, interactive living history of the Georgia Trusteeship
period. Tough as nails and overcoming cruel hardships, The Highland Independent
Company of Darien was the backbone of defense for “The Great Man,” James
Oglethorpe. Learn from “first-hand experience” the hardships and campaigns of the early
days of Georgia.
While the usual Georgia Studies curriculum may place this period early in the school
year, a creative educator can insert this unique demonstration at will: e.g. to highlight
James Oglethorpe’s February 12th
arrival to Savannah. Presentations are interactive,
affordable and designed for each educator’s needs such as venue, schedule & group size.
For more information about subject matter and scheduling, details & fees, please contact
me by phone at 404-432-6702 or naomhniall@gmail.com.

Best regards and Beannachd Día Leibh
