Visitor attractions can be classified into two
categories, man-made or natural-made.
Man made would include everything from Disneyland to
the world's biggest ball of yarn.
Natural-made would include everything from beaches to
mountains.
Attractions are important to the tourism industry because
both of these types of attractions are the only factor for
tourism.

Visit Britain is primarily responsible for the promotion
of tourism to Britain from overseas and also has
responsibility for the marketing of England within the
UK ( Public)

promote tourism in their local area.
6. Outbound Tourism Travel Agents
Outbound tourism is when someone goes out of their
own country. it can for holidays, business, trip etc.
An outbound tour operator provides package holidays
from the UK to overseas.
Thomson holidays is one of the largest tour operator in UK
Multiples – travel agencies which have a large chain of
branches.

Independent – small, private businesses that have one or
a small number of travel agencies.

Online – online travel agencies only operate on the

organisations providing transport services to other
countries.

ABTA- The travel association- the role of ABTA is to protect the
traveller’s money from any possible financial failure of tour operators or
travel agents.
CAA-Civil Aviation Authority-it has the responsibilities include air
safety, consumer protection, environmental research and airspace
regulation.

different country's, and can organise package
holidays

Coach operator role is to provide a variety of
transport options for inbound tourist ranging from
simple airport to accommodate transfers.

The role of a guiding service to inbound tourists is to
give all the information about historical places and
famous place.
Meet England- Meet England is the official body
responsible for promoting England as a meetings
and events destination for business tourist.
UK Inbound- UK inbound is the only trade
association to represent and unite the UK's inbound
tourism businesses.
