- 3. Who We Are • Chicago Area Naviance Network (CANN) • History of CANN pre 2008 - 2009 post 2008 – 2009 • Who belongs to CANN Registrars Generalist Counselors College Counselors Directors of Student Services IT personnel
- 4. How We Work • Meetings are held anywhere from 1 – 3 times per year • Meeting invite and rsvp sent out via listserv • Agenda items can come from anyone

Things to Consider When Building A Professional Network • Support administrative support is essential, colleagues, Naviance personnel, • Cost Possible expenses: hospitality, thank you gift cards for presenters • Space how many people (tables and chairs), technology needs, how many rooms for break outs • Meeting time of day, time of year, location (central if possible, near expressways) • Getting the word out create listserv, announce at local counselor organizations, network through friends • Agenda items Lots of ideas, few presenters, try to solicit member input • Presenters good luck, this takes some arm twisting
