1. Analyze the learner
This class is made up of 21 11th grade students. 15 of the students are Caucasian, 5 African American,
and 1 student is Asian. There are no diagnosed learning disabilities in this class and no behavioral
disorders.
State the Objective
Students will learn who the 3 main Allied powers are during World War II. Students will anlyze what
brought these countries into the war and how the war effected that country. At the end of the
webquest the students will have to decide what they would do differently if they were in charge of the
country during this time. Understand who the Allied powers were in World War II, with 85% accuracy at
the end of this class period.
Select the 3M”s
Method: Students will complete the webquest.
Media: Webquest.
Materials: Each student will have a laptop computer as well as a notebook and writing utensil so they
can take notes while they are in their group.
Utilize Media and Materials
Students will be broken into groups of 3 and given a country. Then whatever country the student got
they will have to search for the reasons that country entered WWII, what effect it had on that country
and then participate in an overall interactive activity. After the students are finished researching their
country they will split into “intra-country” meetings. Where the three countries meet. One of the
students will be chosen (by me) as the leader of each country. Students will discuss their findings and
what they have decided as far as future action, and then decide what to do. The students then go back
to their original group and work on a pack that will help each of the three countries.
Require Learner Participation
The students will be completely active as they have to find the answers to the prompts and they have to
work out a pact with everyone in their group and that pact has to be signed and approved by their
country’s leader. This is an active political process.
Evaluate and Revise
Students will be graded based on the rubric which is given in the Webquest. Once the students have
turned in their pacts and answers to the prompts if it becomes apparent that the students did not grasp
the information we will review the material tomorrow.
