Top News :
• Ranbaxy clarification : News regarding USFDA probes Ranbaxy units - API mftg unit in Toansa". The Company has clarified that "On Saturday,
January 11, 2013, Ranbaxy received the form 483 with certain observations as a result of the recent US FDA inspection at its API plant at
Toansa, Punjab, India. The Company is assessing the observations, and will respond to the US FDA in accordance with the agency s procedure to
resolve the concerns at the earliest. Ranbaxy continues to improve its systems and processes, and remains fully committed to upholding the
highest standards that patients, prescribers, regulators and all other stakeholders expect from the Company. Ranbaxy stays firmly committed to
its philosophy of Quality and Patients First .
• SpiceJet is planning to issue warrants, which will lead to an increase in promoter holding in the company to 58.5 per cent. The company
plans to conclude minority stake sale be April. The issue of warrants would eventually lead to increase in equity share cap by 6.4 crore shares.
Warrant issue to promoters will result in fund infusion of Rs 133 crore .
• MTNL Mgt guideline : Company intends to cut its debt from over Rs 13,000 crore currently to about Rs 5,000-6,000 crore by next March .
Company has started renting out part of its huge land bank in a bid to monetize its assets . Mgt expects rentals to the tune of Rs 150 crore. The
company will also use Rs 4,534 crore it will get from the government for surrendering 4G spectrum to reduce its debt . Company expect money
from the refund to come in this fiscal year.
• ONGC Mgt Guideline : Company believes gas price revision will improve the company's revenues and net profit. Comapny expects gross
revenues to be around Rs 4300-4500 and net profit at around Rs 2,300-2,400. Mgt clarified ONGC has not received any official communication
to buy stake in IOC .
• Anant Raj is selling two properties. Reports indicate that the realty firm is planning to sell two hotel properties in the Delhi-NCR region for an
estimated Rs 900 crore
• ICRA has upgraded the credit rating of Brigade Enterprises Ltd from [ICRA]BBB+ to [ICRA]A- for the long term credit facilities of Rs. 1403.79
crores from Banks. The outlook on the long term rating is stable.
• FIPB , Rs 6,400 crore FDI proposal of GlaxoSmithKline to acquire additional 24.33% in India arm . The Singapore subsidiary of the UK-based
GlaxoSmithKline plans to buy 24.33 percent stake or 2.06 crore equity shares in GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd through an open offer.
The acquisition will result in foreign exchange inflow of Rs 6,400 crore, as per the firm's proposal to FIPB. GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals is
already majority owned and controlled by the GSK Group.
• Italy’s Treasury sold EUR4 billion worth of three-year government bonds at an average yield of 1.51%, down from 1.79% at a similar auction
last month. Rome also sold EUR2.5 billion of debt maturing in 2021 at an average yield of 3.17%, as well as EUR1.695 billion of debt maturing in
2028 at an average yield of 4.26% .
• India DEC CPI Inflation @ 9.87 % Vs 10.14 % ( Expectation ) Vs 11.25 % ( MoM ) . : DEC CPI Food Inflation @ 12.16 % Vs 14.72 % ( MoM ) .
