The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded grants to arts groups in Rahway and Long Beach
Township to support their use of the arts to transform their communities. The Long Beach
Island Foundation for the Arts has been given $25,000 to create a framework for a cultural district

 Governor’s Association released
a report on the arts as an engine
 of growth. In the section titled
  “Delivering a Better-Prepared
   Workforce,” New Jersey was
singled out for its Arts Education
  Census--a model partnership
  between the Arts Council and
the NJ Department of Education.
